The full-scale war unleashed by Russia has changed the life of every one of us — and it has changed the work of the Museum of Kyiv History. Our museum, which preserves the memory of the city’s past, now stands as a guardian of its present. At a time when Kyiv has become a symbol of resilience, we are seeking new ways to tell history — through exhibitions, educational projects, artistic events, and digital initiatives.

Despite the danger, we continue to fulfill our mission — to preserve, study, and interpret the history of Kyiv so that it remains a source of strength for contemporaries and future generations. Part of the collection has been moved to safe locations, exhibitions are being reimagined, and the museum space is gradually transforming into a platform for dialogue about meaning, loss, and restoration.
