Abstract submissions are ongoing for the annual scientific and practical conference “KYIV AND KYIVANS” – 2023
We invite you to participate in the annual scientific and practical conference “KYIV AND KYIVANS,” which will take place on 16–17 November 2023 at the Museum of Kyiv History.
The annual conference aims to summarize research on Kyiv conducted in recent years and to establish theoretical and methodological frameworks for further urban studies.
Conference Areas of Focus:
• Urban archaeology
• Biographical studies (the individual in the city’s history, the city in the individual’s biography)
• History of Kyiv’s urban space
• History of urban architecture
• Urban monuments – issues of identification, protection, preservation, restoration, revitalization, and representation
• Urban daily life
• Visual representations of the city
• Museum studies – challenges of the city museum
• Social transformations of Kyiv society
• Kyiv in history and history in Kyiv: wars, revolutions, states
• Kyiv in the history of ideas: symbols and imagery
The working language of the conference is Ukrainian.
The conference will be held in a hybrid format – offline and online. The deadline for abstract submission is 2 October 2023. Presentation abstracts will be published and made available in electronic format on the websites of the Museum of Kyiv History and the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine before the start of the conference.
