Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius consecrated the premises of the Museum and Exhibition Center

On May 12, 2023, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius visited the Museum and Exhibition Center of the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv and performed the Rite of Consecration of the Center’s premises.

The Museum and Exhibition Center of the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv is an important place for Kyiv residents and all guests of the capital, as it is here that the city’s artistic life thrives, important historical projects are presented, significant cultural events take place, and the memory of our past is preserved. Recently, the Center has become a true platform for intercultural and interreligious dialogue.

At the invitation of the Museum, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine visited the Center and consecrated its premises. After the consecration, Metropolitan Epiphanius addressed those present with a speech in which he wished the management and staff health and strength in their work for the good of the Ukrainian people and, with God’s help, to overcome difficulties and challenges; he prayed for victory over the aggressor and the advent of a just peace.

It is symbolic that the speech of His Beatitude Metropolitan took place near a significant exhibit — the bas-relief of Saint Archangel Michael, who is also called the heavenly defender of Ukraine and the patron saint of Kyiv.

At the conclusion of the ceremonial event, on behalf of the staff, words of gratitude to Metropolitan Epiphanius were expressed by the General Director of the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv, Diana Popova:
“I am immeasurably grateful to Metropolitan Epiphanius for his presence at the Center and for his Blessing. We are following the path of goodness, love, and mercy and, in the darkest times, keep faith in our hearts, listening to sacred precepts. For the first time within the walls of the Center, a prayer was heard in our native Ukrainian language.”

We thank His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Epiphanius for the inspiring Blessing!
