In accordance with the order of the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, on November 12, 2024, the Museum of the Avant-garde was officially established, becoming part of the Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv and its tenth branch. And on May 15, 2025, the Kyiv City Council adopted a historic decision to allocate premises for the Museum of the Avant-garde at 16 Lypska Street. The main tasks of the Museum of the Avant-garde are to preserve, study, research, popularize, and demonstrate the Ukrainian avant-garde, as well as to establish the title of the center of the avant-garde for Ukraine. The art collection of the newly created branch fully represents the entire path of development of the Ukrainian avant-garde, starting from the period of the classical avant-garde of the first half of the 20th century and up to the present day – from Anatol Petrytskyi, Vadym Meller, Oleksandr Bogomazov to Oleg Tistol, Marina Skuhareva, Viktor Sydorenko, Hlib Vysheslavskyi, Oleksandr Zhyvotkov and others.
