At the Museum and Exhibition Center of the Museum of Kyiv History, on the occasion of Kyiv Day, the famous artistic couple Kostiantyn and Svitlana Shapovalov present their exhibition of paintings “Kyiv Symphony.”
Description
The picturesque slopes of the Dnipro, Kyiv’s history wrapped in poetic legends and tales, have long enchanted and inspired artists to create masterpieces. The city lives, transforms, struggles, and captivates even more strongly today. Just as their predecessors did, contemporary painters continue to depict Kyiv with inspiration on their canvases.
The exhibition of paintings “Kyiv Symphony” is a dedication to the indomitable city. It is especially symbolic to present the works of renowned Kyiv artists Kostiantyn and Svitlana Shapovalov on the eve of Kyiv Day, for each of their paintings is a manifesto of admiration for the capital in the language of painting.
The exhibition brings together 50 landscapes of Kyiv: colorful parks, picturesque corners of winding streets, cozy courtyards, and quiet suburbs. “Kyiv Symphony” will be presented to the public for the first time.
“The Museum of Kyiv History possesses the largest collection of Kyiv landscapes in Ukraine, and therefore in the world, numbering about 2,000 paintings and 7,000 graphic works. We are immensely happy that some works by Kostiantyn and Svitlana Shapovalov will complement our Kyiv collection and take a worthy place among other famous canvases,” says Diana Popova, General Director of the Museum of Kyiv History.
On the last day of the exhibition, a charity auction of several works from “Kyiv Symphony” will be held in support of the Museum.
