Autumn is like love.
Only, it happens more often.

The Museum of Kyiv History presents the art exhibition “Crimson Kyiv”, showcasing atmospheric works by Ukrainian artists of the 20th–21st centuries, inspired by autumn in the capital – the most picturesque season along the slopes of the Dnipro.
The dark waters of the Dnipro, the rustle of golden leaves, the patter of raindrops on cobblestones, the explosion of colors and flavors at market stalls, parks with quiet, dormant fountains – in autumn, nature generously shares its inspiration with artists. Autumn in Kyiv has become a legend of the city, celebrated in poetry, music, and painting. “Crimson Kyiv” is an attempt to gather all these artistic impressions in a single project, to demonstrate the continuity of the tradition of painting the capital in autumn across generations and techniques, and to offer visitors a romantic autumnal mood.
Exhibition Project “Crimson Kyiv” presents works from the collections of the Museum of Kyiv History, as well as private and author collections. The exhibition features works by Serhiy Shyshko, Samuil Kaplan, Viktor Zaretsky, Viktor Ryzhykh, Oleksandr Dubovyk, Viktor Sydorenko, Vladyslav Shereshevskyi, Serhiy Sviatchenko, Hanna Kryvolap, Anton Lohov, and others.
“The Museum of Kyiv History possesses an amazingly rich and vibrant collection of paintings. We are proud to have the opportunity to artistically present Kyiv in different seasons and from various perspectives. This exhibition continues our team’s creative pursuits and is another opportunity to express our love for our native city. Kyiv in autumn is always about beginnings, not endings: students return for studies, children come back after holidays, and new projects, ideas, and stories emerge. We aim to remain an important part of the citizens’ leisure despite any challenges the upcoming autumn season may bring,” says Diana Popova, General Director of the Museum of Kyiv History.
