At the Museum and Exhibition Center, masterpieces from the collection of the Museum of Kyiv History are presented for Kyiv Day. “KYIV FOREVER” is a unique exhibition project simultaneously realized at the Museum and Exhibition Center of the Museum of Kyiv History, the Gulliver Shopping Mall, and the Varoshaza Central Park in Budapest. It is an exhibition about such a diverse and multifaceted Kyiv: at night and in the morning, calm and bustling, blooming and urban. It is a tribute to the legendary city, a kind of artistic chronicle presented through works by S. Shyshko, O. Khvostenko-Khvostov, F. Konovaliuk, S. Sviatoslavskyi, and other renowned artists who not only painted the Ukrainian capital but created true emotional canvases of the era. Hanna Starostenko, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration, notes: “The aggressor country continues to attack not only Ukrainian cities but also Ukrainian culture. While our defenders hold the military front, we must respond on the informational and cultural front. Therefore, I am deeply grateful to the Budapest authorities for their support and for the opportunity to show Kyiv through the eyes of famous Ukrainian artists. This is a chance to mark the space of a European capital with a Ukrainian narrative.” The paintings created by the classics of Ukrainian painting, each of whom in their own way captured the moods of the city, will indeed be seen by both Kyiv residents and the people of Budapest. With the initiative and support of the Kyiv City State Administration, masterpieces from the collection of the Museum of Kyiv History will be presented in Kyiv’s sister cities. According to representatives of the Budapest Municipality, this exhibition is another opportunity to draw the attention of the Hungarian public to the Ukrainian capital. The General Director of the Museum of Kyiv History, Diana Popova, emphasizes: “Painting inspires us; in it we find solace in difficult times. With this exhibition project, we aim to inspire, to give genuine and sincere emotions, and once again express admiration for the beauty of the Ukrainian capital. Despite everything — to color Kyiv Day in bright hues — a city that lives and does not surrender, a city in which there is more desire for life than ever before. We are extremely grateful to Ukrainian soldiers for their protection and to international partners for their support, particularly on the cultural front.” Selected works from the exhibition will also be presented in the space of the Gulliver Shopping Mall. “Kyiv Day is a special holiday for each of us. Together with the Museum of Kyiv History, we decided to show familiar locations and landscapes of our capital through the eyes of renowned artists. We invite everyone to visit the KYIV FOREVER exhibition project on the 2nd floor of the mall and discover Kyiv from a new perspective,” comments Kateryna Zhuravkivska, Marketing Director of the Gulliver Shopping Mall.
