The Kudryavka Estate presents the exhibition “Embroidery.”

Branch of the Museum of Kyiv History — the Kudryavka Estate presents the exhibition “Embroidery. From the 19th century to the present.”

The opening of the project is dedicated to Embroidery Day 2023, since in the 19th century embroidery was widely practiced among Kyiv residents.

Thus, at the estate on 9 Kudryavska Street, you will be able to see icons, purses and wallets, table inserts, album covers, and many other items decorated with embroidery.

The exhibition includes exhibits from the museum’s collections and private collections. A sample of Ukrainian decorative and applied art of the 19th century, that is priceless — “Girl Feeding Pigeons.” Also striking items of the exhibition are pipes with beaded embroidered stems, made in Kyiv province in the 18th century.

Each presented item reflects the life and everyday culture of its era, as well as the mood, thoughts, and preferences of its author and contemporaries.
