The Museum of Kyiv had the great honor and pleasure of welcoming Kyiv’s museum professionals to the Museum and Exhibition Center to celebrate International Museum Day.
In the festive hall of the Exhibition Center, the city’s best museum specialists gathered to receive Certificates of Honor and letters of appreciation from the Mayor of Kyiv, as well as Certificates of Honor from the Department of Culture.

A surprise was a greeting from a specially invited guest, the Honored Artist of Ukraine and Director of the Drama and Comedy Theater on the Left Bank of the Dnipro — Olesia Zhurakivska.
Preserving and understanding history is essential if we want to develop as a compassionate and understanding society. And we truly strive to build such a community. It is important to recognize the crucial role museums play in this process.
It is equally important to acknowledge that during the most challenging year in Ukraine’s history, we persevered. We temporarily closed exhibitions but did not halt our activities. We found ways and opportunities to communicate. Now, more than ever, we see society’s need for the knowledge we possess and understand our mission.
Museums are key participants in the well-being and sustainable development of communities. We congratulate everyone on this Day!
