For the first time, a Christmas tree appeared near the Exhibition Center of the Museum of Kyiv History — and not just any tree, but a mini-copy of the Country’s Main Christmas Tree! According to the organizers, this may become a new Kyiv tradition.
This year, all of Ukraine dreams of only one thing — victory — and continues to humbly thank its Defenders every day. Without reliable protection, it would be impossible even to dream of a holiday, so the reminder of Ukraine’s defenders is embedded in the design of this year’s tree, as noted by the founder of the organization Folk Ukraine, Ihor Dobruцьkyi: “In nine months of war, Ukraine has become a symbol of resilience and the struggle for freedom for the entire civilized world. Blue and yellow colors fly in different corners of the planet as a sign of support for life and condemnation of death, which war brings. The 2023 Christmas tree is a symbol of resilience and faith in victory. These are the meanings we want to give our tree, wrapping it in blue and yellow lights and placing guardian angels at its base.”
This year we light the Tree with the shared wish of millions of Ukrainians scattered all over the world — the wish for Peace.
