About Our Museum

The Museum Kyiv History is the capital’s largest museum association.

The Museum of Kyiv History was founded on November 14, 1978 and opened in 1979. It presents various historical, artistic, educational projects and various aspects of the history, literature, science, art, and socio-political life of the city.

Since June 6, 2012, the museum has been located near the Teatralna metro station at 7 Bohdana Khmelnytskyi St., where it has resumed its exhibition activities and currently it is a Museum and Exhibition Center.

The Museum of Kyiv History is a collection of historical exhibits presented in a modern way. We invite you to visit us!

Interesting exhibitions; there is always something going on — auctions, art projects, and much more — all in close proximity to Teatralna metro station.

I enjoyed the exhibitions dedicated to theatre figures. It’s great that the labels next to the exhibits are bilingual — Ukrainian and English. On the first floor, there is a small parlor with an antique German grand piano where lectures, conferences, exhibitions, musical evenings, and concerts are held, as well as a small café. Ticket prices are affordable, with discounts for children, pensioners and disabled visitors.

A pleasant impression from the exhibition featuring a model of medieval Kyiv, and the location is extremely convenient (next to the underground, right in the city center). The same building also hosts exhibitions on the first floor, so for variety and to explore city life, you can visit everything at once.
