About Our Museum

The Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv is the capital’s largest museum association.

The Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv was founded on November 14, 1978 and opened in 1979. It presents various historical, artistic, educational projects and various aspects of the history, literature, science, art, and socio-political life of the city.

Since June 6, 2012, the museum has been located near the Teatralna metro station at 7 Bohdana Khmelnytskyi St., where it has resumed its exhibition activities and currently functions as a Museum and Exhibition Center.

The Museum of the History of the City of Kyiv is a collection of historical exhibits presented in a modern way. We invite you to visit us!

I liked the exposition dedicated to theater figures, it is gratifying that the signs near the exhibits are in two languages - Ukrainian and English, on the first floor - a small living room with an old German grand piano, where lectures, conferences, exhibitions, musical evenings and concerts are held, as well as a small cafe. The prices for entrance tickets to the museum are affordable, discounts are available for children and beneficiaries.

A pleasant impression of the exposition with a model of medieval Kyiv, a hyper-convenient location (near the metro, in the very center of the city). In the same building, exhibitions are held on the first floor, and for variety and familiarization with the life of the city, you can visit everything at once.
